The 34th Annual Frank Brown International Songwriters’ Festival included more than 200 nationally-acclaimed songwriters in venues along the Florida/Alabama Gulf Coast in 2018. This 11-day event was hosted in Downtown Pensacola and Perdido Key, Florida, and Orange Beach, Gulf Shores, Bon Secour, and Silverhill, Alabama.

This two-day event in historic Apalachicola featured delicious seafood, arts and crafts, seafood-related events, and musical entertainment. This year’s festival came less than a month after Hurricane Michael devastated the region, making the event even more important for the local economy. Festival goers enjoyed oyster eating and oyster shucking contests, the Blessing of the Fleet, the 5K Redfish Run, and more.

Peats & Pearls celebrated the heritage of the Gulf Coast through Scotch and oysters in a special four-day event that featured seminars and tastings. Set in the picturesque colonial-era seaport of Pensacola, Peats & Pearls benefited the oyster shell recycling program run by Keep Pensacola Beautiful.

The National Salute to America’s Heroes is a 365-day initiative that launches every Memorial Day Weekend. The event is designed to pay tribute to, honor, and encourage military and first responder heroes. This year, the Salute showcased new military technology and military demonstrations while also including performances by top music entertainers as well as daytime fireworks.

The 7th Annual Roscolusa Song Fest brought singer/songwriters from Nashville, Tennessee, to Ponte Vedra, Florida, for a day of incredible music. A portion of the day’s proceeds benefited the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund for kids with childhood cancer.
