ProStart Culinary Team Competitions

The 26th Annual ProStart Culinary Team Competitions take place Saturday, March 6 and Sunday, March 7, 2027 at the Rosen Plaza Hotel in Orlando.

On Saturday, most of the Culinary and Management teams compete along with all Edible Centerpiece teams. On Sunday, the remaining Culinary and Management teams compete along with all Waiter's Relay teams. The competition is followed by the Salute to Excellence Awards Dinner, where the ProStart competition awards are presented along with the Hospitality Excellence Awards and Pineapple Awards.

For competing schools

• Stipend — the FRLA Educational Foundation provides $425 per competition, up to $1,700 for a school competing in all four events.
• Hotel — Rosen Plaza, $175 per night. Call 800-627-8258 and reference the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association. Reservation deadline: Wednesday, February 3.
• Parking — self-parking is $18 per day.
• Meals — on your own, except the Salute Awards dinner, which is complimentary for competing team members and ProStart instructors.
• Refrigeration — provided on site; items can be stored in the walk-in from arrival until your competition time.
• Hats + aprons — provided for all competing students and mailed before the competition. Culinary and Edible Centerpiece students must wear them.

2027 Culinary and Management competition rules are pending clarification from the NRAEF and will be posted when final. Know your score sheet — every one is included with its competition's rules.
