2019 HTMP Competition Results!

The 16th Annual Florida HTMP Competition took place Sunday, March 3–Monday, March 4, 2019 at the Rosen Plaza Hotel in Orlando.

This two-day competition provided HTMP students a unique opportunity to demonstrate their hospitality knowledge by competing in 1) Hotel Operations Competition, which included a Night Audit and two Case Studies; 2) Hospitality Project, where students create two unique BEO’s (Banquet Event Orders) for their client; and, 3) Knowledge Bowl, a question and answer quiz bowl.

Forest Hill High School in Palm Beach won the 2019 HTMP. Their teacher is Diana Sardina. All results are below.

16th Annual HTMP Competition

The 16th Annual HTMP Competition will take place Sunday, March 3 and Monday, March 4, 2019 at the Rosen Plaza Hotel in Orlando.  The FRLAEF will cover some costs of the competing teams, including hotel stay and meals. Competition rules are below.

Competition will begin on Sunday morning and conclude on Monday afternoon with an awards luncheon.

MONETARY ASSISTANCE

The FRLAEF will cover the cost of your hotel room nights for Saturday, March 2 and Sunday, March 3, 2019.  We will also cover meals from dinner on Saturday through lunch on Monday. Each school is responsible for their travel costs.

AWARDS

Post-secondary schools may award scholarships to the students placing in the top five in each competition.  The FRLAEF will provide medals to each student placing in the top five in each competition. The FRLAEF will provide scholarships for the teams that place first, second, and third overall.

HOTEL

The FRLAEF has a room block reserved at the Rosen Plaza Hotel. We will be taking care of your hotel rooms nights, just indicate on your School Entry Form what you need. Self-parking is free. Valet parking is $20/day and will be on your own.

SALUTE TO EXCELLENCE AWARDS DINNER

All HTMP competing team members and instructors are invited to be our guests at the Salute to Excellence Awards dinner. This dinner takes place the evening of Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 7:00 PM.  The dinner showcases FRLAEF Scholarship recipients, Hospitality Excellence recipients (more about that later), HTMP & ProStart Teacher of the Year as well as ProStart Competition awards.

Each HTMP teacher may recognize their top student for the Hospitality Excellence Awards.  During the awards dinner, the student is called to the stage and presented with a certificate.  If your Hospitality Excellence Awards recipient is unable to attend the dinner, we will mail the award to him/her.  Use your HTMP School Entry Form link to RSVP for the dinner and to recognize a student if you wish.
