Northeast Chapter Scholarship Program- Claude Collins Hospitality Scholarship

FRLA Northeast Chapter awards the Claude Collins Hospitality Scholarship to deserving students who work on FRLA Northeast Chapter member businesses or are children of employees.  

The 2024 Scholarship application process is closed.

Child of a parent who is employed at a FRLA Northeast member business

  • This scholarship will be awarded to a child of an employee of a FRLA member.
  • Employee must have worked at business for at least one year.
  • Student must be enrolled/plan to enroll in a college within the State of Florida (Proof of enrollment will be required).
  • Student must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Up to two scholarships will be awarded, the scholarship amount is a maximum of $1,000.

Employee at a FRLA Northeast Chapter member business attending college

  • This scholarship will be awarded to an employee of a FRLA member business.
  • Employee must have worked at business for at least one year.
  • Student must be enrolled in a college within the State of Florida (Proof of enrollment will be required).
  • Student must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Up to two scholarships will be awarded, the scholarship amount is a maximum of $1,000.

Continuing Education

  • This scholarship will be awarded to an employee of a FRLA member business.
  • Employee must have worked at business for at least one year.
  • This is a tuition/class/certificate reimbursement scholarship awarded to hospitality employees who are seeking further education in their respective field.
  • The student must have been an employee for at least one year at a FRLA member place of business.
  • Examples of programs that qualify- HR certificate, wine sommelier, management training program (state college programs), culinary training workshop.
  • Course must be completed within one year of being awarded (deadline of July 2025)
  • Student must receive a 3.0 or higher in the classes or pass the certification exam to be awarded the scholarship.

Only complete applications will be considered by the FRLA Scholarship Committee & Board of Directors.
Scholarship winner will be notified and awarded in July.
