During the 2020 Hurricane Season, the Florida Division of Emergency Management is entering into agreements with hotels to serve as shelters during hurricanes. This agreement asks hotels to make a pre-arranged number of rooms available for use during a hurricane that requires evacuations. Hotels will be compensated for their participation in this program.
To take part in the program or to learn more, hotels may contact the Safer-FL Support Center at info-safer-fl@em.myflorida.com or 1-833-904-2260. If you have already completed a survey expressing your interest in the program, you may receive an email or a phone call from the Safer-FL Support Center. Please know that agents from the Safer-FL Support Center are acting on behalf of the State of Florida and are discussing a legitimate program.
