REGIONAL WORKSHOPS 2023

The FRLAEF is offering six Regional Workshops this fall. ProStart teachers may bring up to five students to each event. There is no fee to attend a Regional Workshop. Lunch will be provided for all attendees at each event. Chef coats will be given to all participating ProStart students at each event. Travel to and from the event is on your own.

If Regional Workshops reach maximum capacity prior to the deadline, all subsequent schools will be placed on the waiting list. Event times vary, details are below.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26

UCF’s  ROSEN COLLEGE OF HOSPITALITY, ORLANDO

The event will begin at 9:00 am and conclude at 1:30 pm. There is no fee to attend this event. Lunch will be provided and all attending students will receive a complimentary chef jacket.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 13

KEISER UNIVERSITY, MELBOURNE CAMPUS

The event will begin at 9:00 am and conclude at 1:30 pm. There is no fee to attend this event. Lunch will be provided and all attending students will receive a complimentary chef jacket.

Students will be working on a Hawaiian-themed menu which will include: Huli Huli grilled chicken, Shrimp Lomilomi, Pork Katsu, Spam fried rice, Hawaiian Potato and Macaroni salad, Pineapple upsidedown cake, Malasad (Hawaiian donuts), and Haupia Pie.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 13*

KEISER UNIVERSITY, TALLAHASSEE CAMPUS

The event will begin at 9:00 am and conclude at 1:30 pm. There is no fee to attend this event. Lunch will be provided and all attending students will receive a complimentary chef jacket.

Students will split up into three different labs. Lessons include techniques required to produce a variety of Asian influenced dishes. The labs will show knife skills and different cooking techniques.

Students will rotate through a Mystery Basket competition along with educational seminars from Darden and Universal.
